Lara in Action – Fundrive Report

fundrive1

Our team’s car designed for the 2025 season, Lara, finally got the chance to showcase her abilities on track. The team held its Fundrive event at the picturesque Palóc Ring in Patvarc, where invited supporters and partners could experience firsthand what it feels like to sit in a Formula Student race car. Throughout the day, visitors not only saw and tried the car, but also gained insight into the team’s operations and the engineering work behind the scenes.

We prepared a range of special interactive programs for our guests: a simulator and a VR station allowed them to experience an authentic FS environment. Refreshments and snacks made the day even more enjoyable, while participants could have in-depth conversations with team members about the technical details.

The main attraction of the day, the test drive, gave everyone the chance to become a pilot for a moment. They could try out the acceleration and cornering dynamics of an FS car and get a sense of the engineering precision required for such a machine to move so effortlessly on the track.

To our great delight, the experience left a lasting impression on everyone. Our supporters and partners shared their thoughts:

Delta Tech:
“I’ve never experienced anything like this before. The acceleration was what really thrilled me — they told us it could go from zero to a hundred in 2.4 seconds. It would have been fantastic over a longer stretch as well, but even this was unbelievable.”
A representative from Revolution was similarly enthusiastic:
“It was an incredible experience. I had never driven a formula-style car before, so this was completely new to me. I’ve tried many types of race cars, but never anything like this — it was truly amazing.”
The YouTuber known as Becsületesnepper put it this way:
“The whole thing was surreal. I wasn’t prepared for how easy it is to drive, and how the car practically steers itself through the corners. It’s both exciting and impressive.”

Lara is special not only for the driving experience she offers: in every detail, she reflects the team’s engineering work and innovation. From the suspension to the bodywork and aerodynamic optimization, every component carries the team members’ years of experience and creativity.

The test drive offered participants not only a memorable physical experience, but also the chance to see how a project imagined by university students can evolve into competitive technology. By the end of the day, everyone stood by the track filled with joy — impressed not only by the car’s performance but also by the team’s dynamics and engineering precision.

We believe that this event once again proved that the work and innovation of our engineering students are not just theoretical concepts, but real experiences and genuine success stories. Lara, along with all our designs, is more than just a race car — she is an opportunity for us to showcase our passion, dedication, and the excitement of engineering, and what it truly means to be part of the Formula Student world.
